Frequently Asked Questions

Does therapy work?Indeed, recent research suggests that marital therapy yields substantial and enduring improvements over no treatment at all. Comparable studies affirm the efficacy of the individual and family therapy methods Isabella employ. However, the success of therapy hinges on several factors, such as the way individuals apply the knowledge they gain, the rapport between therapist and client, and the therapist's skill and commitment. Isabella aims to create a therapeutic environment that feels safe for exploring personal challenges. Clients often express appreciation for feeling supported yet also challenged and encouraged to grow. Despite her extensive knowledge of various approaches, Isabella strives to make clients feel as though she is working "with" them rather than "doing things to" them.

How often are sessions scheduled?Isabella understands that committing to weekly sessions for the first few months can seem like a big commitment. It’s important to note that meeting only twice a month may slow progress and extend the duration of treatment.
-
How long should I expect to be in therapy? The duration of therapy varies for each individual, family, or couple, making it challenging to provide an exact timeline. Typically, people can expect to be in treatment for a minimum of 6-12 months. Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under federal law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
